Our Halloween word search grows with the child. Little ones get picture-helped first finds, and big kids hunt for backwards words. Answer keys are included.
Halloween Word Search is part of The Party Night: every game, invitation, sign, coloring page, tag and label we make, in one download.
The Halloween Word Search PDF has six puzzles in three levels: two easy 8 × 8 grids with seven words and a picture beside each word, two medium 12 × 12 grids with 12 words, and two hard 15 × 15 grids with 15 words. Answer keys for all six are included.
Hand out the level that fits each child, or put all three on a quiet table and let them choose. It is a calm seat for children who need a break from the louder games.

The two hard puzzles hide 15 words in a 15 × 15 grid. Each one has at least four backwards words and four diagonal words.
The answer key gives the row, column and direction of every word on the larger grids. Checking is quick.
The set has six themed puzzles: Night Friends, Pumpkin Patch, Trick or Treat, Spooky Creatures, Haunted House and Autumn Night. They go from easy to hard, and answer keys are included. Each puzzle page has its own spot illustration.
Pick one word at a time and scan the grid for its first letter. On the easy grids, words run only across and down, and a picture sits beside each word. On the harder grids, check backwards and diagonal too. Every word appears exactly once, so you can move on when you find it.
Words with more than one part, such as black cat, candy corn and jack-o'-lantern, are written without spaces in the grid. That makes them harder to spot. The hard puzzles also hide words backwards and diagonally.
The puzzles use words such as black cat, candy corn, jack-o'-lantern, vampire and werewolf. Vampire and werewolf are in the Spooky Creatures puzzle. Every word appears exactly once in its grid.
The easy puzzles have seven words each, with a picture beside every word. Children can match what they see to the word they search for. The medium and hard puzzles add more words for older kids.
The two hard puzzles suit grown-ups and older children. Each has a 15 × 15 grid with 15 words in all 8 directions, including backwards. The answer key gives the row, column and direction of every word, so checking is quick.
